The reason you have to buy a a VIA SATA controller PCI card is not because they assume you don't have any SATA ports, it's because flashing doesn't play nice with most other SATA interfaces. I tried flashing with my onboard Intel SATA controller, and it was impossible. Ordered the VIA card, problem solved. There is a good reason that specific card gets mentioned so often.

great info awesome tutorial . one lil side note..... u already had device manager open u coulda right clicked the dvd and scaned for hardware changes and it would found the device

Is all the software your using up to date and everything. Like using LT+ newest version etc. BTW very informative and really love this. Just want to make sure. Imma noob.
