A gigantic python snake in Florida ate a 76-pound adult deer. The 16 foot long Burmese python was one of the largest pythons discovered to date in the sunshine state.

According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission's exotic species coordinator Scott Hardin, if these huge snakes aren't killed, they could migrate northward. A government sanctioned shotgun blast stopped this snake from its potential journey to Atlanta or the Carolinas.

And just how any inches around did the beast's belly have to measure in order to covert a 76 pound Bambi into breakfast? 44 inches.

Oh, and what is the average weight of a 11-year old boy in America: 76 pounds....something to think about.

And you sir are wrong !! Nowaday, everything wrong with the Everglades is the Pythons fault.

I have been going there for over 30 years. I'd walk out on the sawgrass, on the hammocks, in different parts of the Everglades. With the exception of a couple of river otters, rarely if ever did I see ANY mammals. They say that the reason there are no small mammals in the Everglades is because of the Python.Even BEFORE the it was 1st reported ,there where few mammals to start.

  • If this Burmese Python can eat a 76 lb deer, it can certainly eat a small human.

  • @Vergadoce I'd imagine most children get bit because they don't understand how to properly interact with a dog, not because they purposely antagonize it. I believe most children are bitten in the face. A young child won't know that its a bad idea to put their face next to their pet's unless taught.

  • There's a lot of misconceptions about the Burmese python. First of all, there is no way the python can eat a child that size. The python has the power to kill a human but our shoulders are too wide for any python to swallow. Plus these pythons would rather eat smaller prey like raccoons than eating large prey like deer or human. Eating huge meals would restrict the snake's movement to barely nothing. A gator would have killed that python long before the snake could digest.

  • kill'em all! don't let that little black boy get eaten next!!! lol.

  • I agree on eradicating these things but they cannot migrate northward .They already have a slight issue with the climate in south florida. Its sad that some idiot whether it be by his own fantasy or ignorance realeased these snakes into the everglades. Who knows it could have been the "python" hunters themselves to generate revenue . I dont know but I do know these things need to.be killed on spot. Not kept and rehabilatated not brought to a NATURE reserve killed. So no one can profit anymore.
