I'd prefer all foreighners to see autumn in the suburbs in Japan...Must!
Tokyo is expensive to stay or to live but the countryside,everything is cheap and good for relaxation. many hot springs,good local people and foods, Cool&clean fragrant air.
Many people from abroad live in and enjoying life!!

@madwani I visited there many times from Japan. Absolutely beautiful places....mountains, woods, beautiful houses, fields, and castles. I wanted visit there again.

Well, In response to your qustion for example, A guy from NZ lives in Hagano Pref. well known for great nature with his Japanese wife and their kids enjoying hot springs and every kind of outdoor leisure including skiing through the year costing $3000/month. and he's not the only case but many. Try to visit japan I maybe a help though I was born a Tokyo downtown boy.......
