@jindl24 Your points are well-expressed with merit. One challenge is how much is too much fighting? By that I mean, the latitde of on-ice officals speaking in voice loud enough to be heard, "One more punch and you are out of this game." Perhaps, it might be a notice to enforcers that they better make it count because they will no longer be there to protect another player from rough treatment after that shift.
Competition is exciting. A grudge from earlier games is childish. "One more punch.."

@4BlocksE2ndOnRight I have to disagree. While I am pleased that the NHL has done away with the bench clearing brawls, I believe that fighting has its place. Without it, you end up with what is common in European leagues in which fighting is illegal - lots of stick work, and I don't mean stick handling. Imagine how many Matt Cooke's there would be in the league if no one feared retribution from the opposition.
Keep it in, but keep it under control.
