During the Air Show on Sept 1st, the CF-18 just touches the sound barrier to create a soft sonic boom and visual plume that can be seen for a fraction of second. Sure it wasn't a REAL sonic boom, but could it's the closest I've seen (and other people around me agreed) as you can get at a Toronto Air Show. Never seen or heard that from any jet during a fly by in the last 5 years I've watched the show - just so cool to witness in person!

  • Well of course the planes are not allowed to go sonic speed at the Air Show (safety & noise reasons) but I explain more in the description of how close and cool it was.

  • @Warbird5162 Watch the episode, they tried everything.

  • @boobyboob69 actually, a canadian airforce jet back in the late 60s went mach atleast mach 1.5 at the canadian international airshow in toronto and several building, houses and vehicles were damaged by the shockwave, and thousands of people complained about the noise from the sonic boom... and that was prietty much the end of supersonic passes anywhere near downtown toronto

  • @jacked080 actually.. mythbusters checked that and it didnt break anything.

  • if he were to "break" the sound barrier , he would shatter every window within a mile

  • @100purcent He may have changed the title of the video. Secondly, it's you're.

  • @Sting3733 your an idiot, it says almost breaks sound barrier learn to fuckin read

  • A/C could also mean....aircraft carrier, air cushioning, anti climax, ....

  • That isn't breaking the sound barrier, it's just a pressure wave.

  • @Volvorules60r: I know, i am just kidding around with you :P

  • @Ceasar1030 it is common knowledge in the aviation world that A/C means Aircraft
