Basic Training Pugil

This is video that was recorded by a photography company in Columbus, Georgia while I was in US Army Basic Combat Training from August-Nov 1997. This company would record various bits of training and then rip of the Joes by charging them large quantities of hard-earned money for this bouncy, grainy video. Anyways....its good to have this record of what I was going through, though it is hardly all-encompassing. This is video from our Pugil training. This is to help develop bayonet skills...and to beat the crap out of each other. Good stuff...Hooah! More clips from my basic training to come.

Great memories: Ft. Jackson Jan '96. It sucked the energy out of me. It looked easy but the other guy and I got into a lock for like 30 seconds. Drill Sergeant was like "get the fuck outta there. you're pissing me off".

These guys are good. If the Marines can do better, good for them. There's nothing to laugh about when you're in the corp anyway (ha ha. now that's funny)

stfu with that marine shit, who cares if theyre cheering and having a good time for once. Its like the only time in basic training that we were allowed to have fun and cheer for something and laugh about something. its a good morale booster.

@mrmidget94 I've been in a few Marine pugil stick fights on Parris Island (2001-02, on the island). Laughing would result in something negative, I am sure.

They do seem to lack the "killing" motivation that was present in the Corps. Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings I guess
