I think this man is a genius - the way he despences his wisdom and insight is captivating and brilliant, and never predictable !

Talking about the writing of history books reminded me of a saying (I think Hegel) "the only thing we learn from history, is that we learn nothing from history"

I'm glad Montagraph is reminding us how to see history beyond what's written in history books and all while he chows down on ravioli right down to scraping the bottom of THE CAN !

1932: WWI Veterans riding a bus with a banner saying "In Bonus We Trust" (there was a little more but this is off the top of my head) after the bonus they were promised, were met with opposition from currently enlisted troops...M1 rifles and bayonets i even beleive they wore gas masks and the veterans never got their bonus....they show it in the history books now i learned it awhile ago

Don Maynard, Wilt Chamberlain, Dan Marlino and a host of sports greats wore number 13. They obviously did not have Triskaidekaphobia. But numbers do mean everything and do decide outcomes. Just think of how many immigrants in this country there are. Then think of how much money they have that are not in Banks. Banks know that number, over 10 million immigrant housholds are unbanked. Numbers, especially when they mean money, mean everything!
