The Koenigsberg concert, a hommage to Otto Nicolai, on July the 15th 2010. It was the first time that the Vienna Philharmonic with Christian Thielemann played in "normal" clothes. The concert took place in a Sports Hall. Therefore the acoustics were bad. You will hear the overture from "The Merry Wives of Windsor" (Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor".

  • This is great. It is a pleasure watching an orchestra playing without the pump and circumstance of the usual concerts. This will be the next stage in modernising classical music. The further step will be the conductor explaining the pieces to the audience and making them "part of the performance". That will be a huge success (I have done it already...)
