Harry Paget, Reed College class of 1951, created this video describing Reed College in the late 1950s--includes the ceremonial laying of the Eliot Hall cornerstone (ca. 1911) and the Boar's Head procession.
The cornerstone laying ceremony is conducted by what appears to be the Grand Master of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Oregon according to a traditional Freemasonic Ceremony. Simeon Reed had been a Mason and a member of the Portland Scottish Rite, so this would make sense. Thanks from a Reed alumnus and a Mason!
I would love to see more of these 50's scenes from Reed. I graduated in 1958.
