Harry Paget, Reed College class of 1951, created this video describing Reed College in the late 1950s--includes the ceremonial laying of the Eliot Hall cornerstone (ca. 1911) and the Boar's Head procession.

  • I would love to see more of these 50's scenes from Reed. I graduated in 1958.

  • The cornerstone laying ceremony is conducted by what appears to be the Grand Master of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Oregon according to a traditional Freemasonic Ceremony. Simeon Reed had been a Mason and a member of the Portland Scottish Rite, so this would make sense. Thanks from a Reed alumnus and a Mason!
