This story touched me more than I can say. I have never been directly affected by cancer, except a girl who went to Brownie's with me who died age 9. The grief of her parents empowered me to make a difference in the world. R.I.P Laurie xxxxxxxx Beth, 16

He went to Fairfield high school. i go there and there's a well for for laurie, but it has bin blocked off due to people chucking stuff down his well. RIP Laurie.

Dear Matthew,
It seems that I knew Laurie from the time I saw the programme of you and your wife trying to adopt Vika. It broke my heart when you wrote so movingly about his death on the Guardian.
My thoughts are always with you.

I still think about Laurie and how amazing and intelligent he was! I remember his first word was 'blackberry'...

I was in Birmingham Childrens Hospital when Laurie was in, he was in the bed opposite me.
He whipped me at Pro Evolution.
He was a great person
