"I'm cool on Radio" Himesh Reshammiya

Singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya promises four big releases this year. Looking leaner and younger than ever before, the hair over his forehead pushed back, he says, Nothing is impossible if you set your heart on it. There may be setbacks, but dont give up. This is the same man who refused to sing for A R Rahman because he only wants to sing in films hes acting in. And the same Himesh who was among the Top 10 tax payers this year... an indication that all is indeed well with him.

The four releases lined up this year include Radio — produced by Ravi Agarwal and directed by Ishaan Trivedi, Ishq Unplugged — a Studio 18 production directed by Swapna Joshi, A New Love Ishtory and Kajrare — both produced by Bhushan Kumar and directed by John Mathew Mathan and Pooja Bhatt respectively. Himesh promises to end the recession in Bollywood with the collections of these films.

Recession can only end with quality products that keep in mind changing trends and what people want, he says. I think trends change every two-and-a-half years and my forthcoming films and music will be reflections of the changing times. I did that earlier when I shifted from doing music for Tere Naam — which was so Indian, to becoming a singer with Aashiq Banaya Aapne and followed it with 50 more hits which were ahead of their time. Now in these four films you will see and hear a completely new Himesh.

He understands that cinema is changing. The days of running around trees are over. After doing all kinds of roles, I discovered that comedy is my forte, beams Himesh. Through Radio, in which he plays an RJ, Himesh pays tribute to all RJs of the world. Dont undermine my capabilities, youll be surprised, says the actor-singer with wink. Radio is a cool romantic comedy and I have adapted myself to the character. Its not one of your over the top Yo guys, but someone very identifiable. His lingo is very contemporary and youth centric. Radio is being launched tomorrow with a song recording and a non-stop, 60-day shooting schedule.

To promote the film, Himesh went to the Radio Mirchi office where CEO Prashant Pandey said, Himesh has shown himself to be a versatile actor in addition to being a hit singer. Its good to know that he has as many as four films releasing this year. Mirchi listeners are keenly awaiting his movie and music releases.
