How a city "looks" is one of the least important aspects. How safely, environmentally responsible, and socially responsibly its planned are a lot more important in my opinion.

See what can be achieved by a culture that doesn't waste most of its time watching television?

PtGProduction ... Dubai city, what is the elevation above sea level?...is there larger towers being planed (even taller than the Burj)?.....P.S. I am facinated buy urbanism and man made architecture, I'm not in the industry.

in most cases perhaps, but in others progresion is visible, iconic developments have already been completed, i.e. the burj al arab, emirates towers, the madinat, the mall of the emirates. There is clear conviction, drive and involvement from the worlds best proffessionals for these further developments to be completed in the coming years

many of these are in the planning stages.Construction is well under way for others. The development shown from 1:50-2:25 is downtown dubai featuring the worlds tallest building 180 floors (120 have been built) and the worlds largest mall 1600 outlets which has its structure in place. Many of the developments shown are based on reclaiming land, following in the footsteps of the palm islands, the largest manmade islands..see google earth..lets hope the speculative bubble doesnt burst
