i hate gold macroers, on my server there is 1 in EVERY cap city, both horde and alliance...plus you can never escape them sending tells to EVERY person they can.....ill even get mail ads.....frustrating
Using the GDP per capita numbers for China, via wikipedia, the average Chinese citizen earns 3,259 USD a year.
Assuming the standard US 2000 hour work year, that's about 1.63 USD an hour. However, I highly doubt that the average Chinese citizen works a 40 hour week, they probably are forced to work 60-70 hours a week, which multipled by 50 weeks, would be 3000-3500 hours worked. That plunges the average down to about a dollar.
@WoWhistorian I do not play any MMO's, so I wouldn't know whether that's true or not. But the gold farming part wasn't quite what I was referring to. I was talking about "10 cents an hour's good money when you are Chinese." You must admit, that is a bit racist.
It's not racist, though. It's true, the Chinese do farm gold for money. On many, many MMO's. RuneScape, for example, used to crowded as hell with them, before Jagex had to change their game. WoW has had constant problems with them. It's not racist; it's fact. Not that I am saying all the Chinese do such a thing, but the vast majority of Gold farming companies are Chinese.
my server only has one or two problems with farmers, you may see one macroing an offer in oggrimar and i got a messgae from one once, but its pretty easy to avoid them.

Plus it's satire. Lighten up.
