The Music Industry is so fake and full of Bullshit. After watching the Grammy Awards - it's all just such BULLSHIT. All of those artists SUCK compared to real musicians. Take some composer who writes a 17 min. piece and it takes the person like 3 months - why aren't they on the Grammy's? No a bunch of RIP-OFF Loosers like Coldplay, (DickPlay), go and win best song of the year - WTF. That is RETARDED!!!

I believe that in the future(and it's not so far away), music will be available for free and the people who enjoy it will be able to make a donation which will represent their appreciation and their wish to give back for what they have received.
This will be a reflection of the shift of consciousness that is taking place on our planet.
All systems that centralized and give power to the few will collapse and we will have alternate systems that are decentralized and empower people. peace

I have extreme talent with computers. I am also a talented musician with perfect pitch. Can I make it big in the music industry granted that I am very good with computers and is capable of composing, arranging and producing music on a computer? Probably not, granted that musicians these days are so jealous of each other.

Blues was a blend American folk and African chants, rooted in the African-American hardship which began to take form during the slave trade, not linked to classical music which grew from European Culture.
But you're right, sex outsells talent, its a sad sad truth.

Man, I have tried the music for TV thing and even to get into that is a hell of a mission.

Also big labels are not dying, they still get alot of money, just less than the amount they got before. But they still get alot of money. How a thing that controls 81% to 70% of the market (according to a pic in wikipedia) is dying?
What we have to do is focus on the listeners and not on artist. Make the listners know that there is a huge music world out there. Open the curtains. Well, not open the curtains, show the curtains, because the listeners dont even know this curtain exist.
All genres can be rooted back to it. For instance, metal traces back to rock, which traces back to country & rockabily, which traces back to jazz & blues, which traces back to classical. Yet modern pop comes from somewhere else. You see, pop artists realized they can't be as good as Jackson (who constantly brought in elements of rock, jazz, etc), so they copy Madonna's "sex sells" formula of "success." That is why the music industry is dying. You see, sex outsells talent anyday.

While I understand why you said it has been dying since 2000 (via record sales), it's been dying since the mid-90s, when all of this shit got mainstream. All the fake processed music shit took over then, it just took the better part of the 90s for people to realize it.
