Good luck with the project... but I'm still a firm believe in the words of Gene Roddenberry... when Star Trek becomes about Admirals pontificating and intergalactic espionage and intrigue... it descends into Buck Rogers foolishness... I for one miss my "grandfather's Star Trek...

You have to respect a man who will put his time and effort into productions that wont net him anything financially. He has more heart in this mythos than JJ Abrams and even Paramount itself these days.

A TOS cast member in post DS9/Nemesis uniform? Well worth the watch. Looking forward to this. St: OGAM was really good. I hope this will be like DS9's Section: 31, but there is a fine line between an intriguing espionage action adventure and high sci-fi camp.

Although I really like where the franchise has headed in the novels (most notably Destiny and The Typhon Pact) and this series would most likely contradict all that has transpired, the simple fact that this is Trek created by people that know and care about its integrity (and not the nonsense of Orci and Abrahms) has me hopeful. I have said for years that Trek needs a darker edge (a Section 31 series). Get Ira Behr in on this as well! I am looking forward to this as well as lending my support.

Gene Roddenberry's vision of Star Trek was unique. Star Trek originally didn't focus on weapons. It had humour and messages for a better tomorrow. So forgetting about that sickly sweet kind of show, let's have grit and weapons and death. That is what follows Gene's vision after he is gone. I don't think today's generation of scifi viewers expects anything less than that.
