Loper Elementary - A Distinguished School

Superintendent of Public instruction Dr. Tony Bennett acknowledged Loper Elementary in Shelbyville today after the school received national recognition as a Title 1 Distinguished School. Loper joins more than 75 schools honored nationwide for closin...g the achievement gap in 2009 by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Association of State Title 1 Directors.

Loper Elementary continues to make huge academic strides for their students, said Bennett. Having been to Loper before, I am confident the educators and students in this community will not let up and they will continue to close the achievement gap in the years to come.
