John Illsley has been the bass guitarist of the legendary Dire Straits.
Now he has turned to play the guitar. On May 14, 2010 he played at the
Stage Club in Hamburg to promote his new solo album "Street Of Heaven".
He has been supported by former Dire Straits member Chris White who is
a phantastic saxophone player and by Polly Wood on 2nd guitar.
Both guitar and style of singing are lacking. Sounds lame especially since John Illsley was part of the original Dire Straits lineup. Tribute bands "Next Train" and "Rocking Fingers" sound more authentic. Shame John Illsley. This performance is pathetic. Put some effort to sound like the way it should sound. Learn to sing and play like Mark.

questa il caro vecchio john è più abituato a cantarla perché faceva la seconda voce ma resta il fatto che con un po' di dignità potrebbe accantonare la chitarra e tornare alla sua grande passione il basso Farebbe sicuramente la scelta giusta! Chris perfetto

not as good as knopflers, no matter how hard people try the never seem to mute the strings like knopfler does, even though he was in the band he still can not play the solos like the man himself. Hope sultan of swing is not next as going by this he will ruen another good song.
