@grafdelafergrafdelaf ~ she's emulating a snare drum. it's done by a loose string mute, the muted ring tone (drum sound) is derived from a hard finger nail stroke. then of course while doing that part with the thumb she plays the melody on top of it. a very developed technical skill, for any age. hers is one of the best i've ever heard.

Amazing for anyone let alone a 12 year old. I do think that many people could get to a high level of play at a young age with a fair amount of talent and the correct guidance though.
