Ahh, the glory days!

Jacques last NHL game, and his last goal. He led the playoffs in goals and retired a Stanley cup champ. What a way to go.

@bashibabat and it sucks that with todays playoff format we'll never see a Bruins Habs final

Lemaire, Dryden retired after this game, Cournoyer as well ( although he was injured thru most of the season) . Big holes to fill there, The dynasty was over.
-
shoots he scores, more like backhander he scores!

Congratulations on coaching win #600 tonight Jaques!

Had a wicked slap shot too....saw him score on Tony O twice at the forum from the blue line...top corner and bottom corner. First one set up the second...Tony o was looking high again and JL put it along the ice. Sweet.

You make an excellent point, I think I've seen fewer clips on videotape, ESPN and youtube of the 1979 Finals than just about any other finals since 1976. I've seen more clips of the Rangers semi-final win over the Islanders.

Classic Lemaire....

@eaglesyz Smith was there in '84, but the Oilers still won!
JD was infamous for being out of position. He was an average goalie at best. But he played incredibly well during the Playoff run v. Isles and Flyers. But the Habs were an elite team at that time and noone could've beat them. Arguably the best ever.
