@pipeup1 It could be he couldn't find a Lutheran church close enough. Rehnquist (a Swedish name, which until recently had the official church as Lutheran) also went to Catholic Mass with Nino Scalia! It is not unusual for people of different denominations to visit other churches. In fact, the Episcopalians and the Lutherans have come to a loose confederation, exchanging ministers in some cases.

Loved the song - reminds me of Garrison Keilor once saying everyone in Minnesota was a Lutheran - even the atheists - because it was the Lutheran God they did not believe in. But Tom Landry was United Methodist - long time member of Highland Park UMC, Dallas - where George and Laura Bush were also members.
