I was think of purchasing this bike but after reading both of your comments I think I will leave well alone. I have a Cube gtc race at the moment, had it fitted. It is a great bike but I want to upgrade soon maybe a look....?

I never said that i haven't tried their top brands. I said that i haven't tried a cervelo or a trek, and i said that they make ugly bikeframes. I have tried Specialized, Pinarello (never owned one though), Cube and Canyon and they are great too. Why would i need to "justify a purchase"??? if I wasn't satisfied i could have returned it and agreed with you. Team managers DO seek out the best gear, that is obvious. Why would you get payed to use sub-standard gear????

So you base you love for Wilier on the fact that you've tried neither one of their top models or some similar companies bikes? So you are saying you have ZERO standard of reference. No, there is no conspiracy. Its a fact that bike companies frequently pay magazines for favourable reviews. And they also pay teams to use their bikes. Teams don't say Hmmmm lets use Wilier. You are hardly an ambassador for the brand . At least I am unbiased. You are trying to justify your purchase.

Cervelo and TREK are the ugliest bike out there. Haven't tried them so i don't know how good they are. So you think there is a great conspiracy from WILIER who are trying to lure people into buying shitty bikes by posting fake reviews and paying Lampre to ride their bikes?... I'm not defensive.. I just want to make sure that your comment is not the only one people see when they look up "Wilier" on youtube.

and yes, you are right....we do buy fake Wiliers. Then when they crack we send them back to the Wilier distributor and we get get real ones on warranty. We have found the perfect scam. Strange how this year we have seen about 14 cracked Wiliers and not 1 cracked colnago. You sir are lucky you got a rare Wilier that works. Be happy, but don't try and trick everyone else into thinking they are something they are not.

Just because you ride a so/so bike you don't have to get defensive. Anyone can sponsor a pro team if they have money. Do you think anyone really wants to ride a Trek, or a giant? Seriously. And do you think Pettachi rides a stock bike? Even wilier admits his are totally customized. Yes I have read some favorable reviews of Wilier and they were coincidently in the same mags that had huge Wilier ads. By your logic then Cervelo must be the best bike out there.

They are sponsoring one of the biggest Italian teams so claiming that they are not "one of the big italian makers" is ridicoulous. A team that has won several classics and the green jersey in the tour wouldn't want to ride shitty bikes...

I have two Wilier Bikes and they are fantastsic. Lavaredo for commuting and the Izoard for racing and training. All the reviews I have seen of Wilier bikes (both professional and customer) rate them very highly. I think someone in asia are selling you "Wilier" copy bikes and you're just not aware of it yet...

I am a retailer for Wilier and 3 other italian brands. Wilier frames make up nearly 90 % of our warranty claims. They also have zero quality control. Terrible paint jobs. I rode a Cento1 Sl for a while and that thing couldn't be less stiff. Also the Le ROi has the worst geometry out there. Its good that you like your Izoard, I also like my Honda Accord. But you will never see Wilier as one of the big Italain makers. They just aren't sure what they're doing yet. Buy a Prince.
