  • Wow, thanks so much for doing this man! I have read and heard so much about Dinkytown and Bob's connection with it. If I'm not mistaken I think its the place where he started calling himself 'Dylan' instead of 'Zimmerman' and also where he really started playing folk music in 1960 :) Thanks for the tour, hopefully I can get myself over to Minnesota at some point!

  • @MrDylanRecords You are correct sir! I was actually going to make this a private video and just send it to you but I thought others would like to see it. Minnesota is beautiful in the Summer!

  • So sad to see historical places being turned into corporate money sucking sh-t holes! Ha sorry, just happens way to often.. has happened alot in CPH. Great video! I'm thinking of doing a us roadtrip next year! always good to find new places to go to besides the classics.. :)

  • @merokodk Well, if you ever make it MN, I'd be glad to show you around. We could go record shopping!

  • Is that where you live, Minneapolis? How is it? How're the record shops? The concerts? Tell me everything!!

  • @dvdude30 No, but I did for many years. I moved back to my hometown to get sober and go back to school. I live in small town MN. Minneapolis is a beautiful city. Many cool record shops, theaters, music venues. It really has a thriving "arts" scene. You should check it out!

  • i lived there when that Hollywood video was selling the videos and dvds for $1... it was cool. but i sooooo miss dinkytown. i hope to move back there soon. thanks for the vid!!!!!

  • Wow! I'm nearly speachless; I lived in Mpls '80-'90 and spent time in Dinkytown. In the '80s Dinkytown and Dylan were dead. Still a nice place, Al's Restaurant is the best diner in the nation, The Podium Music Store, and other famous buildings entrapped some of the DNA of America's future stars, like Dylan. But in the 80's, most hip Mpls city folk believed Dylan was just a young, over-aggressive, opportunist who left town for Greenwich Village, New York and never looked back. boB

  • Great post,so much information, thanks! Hate to see places try to make money off of somebody once living there, like I saw once a house he lived in has like a bob dylan mural on it,so weird!!

  • That was very cool to see. Thanks for the tour!

  • Thanks for the info. I'm always on the hunt for a new city!

  • @amberbelote COME HOME! LOL. I'll be making a video later tonight to show the records you sent me. Thanks again!
