Atlanta area hunter shares experiences with the quality and service he receives from David Widaski at the Douglasville Retail Meat and Smokehouse, a Georgia Hunters for the Hungry collection site and popular deer processing and retail butcher shop just outside Atlanta (3749 Kings Hwy, 30135).
When you have a deer processed, it's normally a good idea to mix some other meats or fat with it to get a better finished product. When you opt for sausage, you can get as much as double your meat, since it is cut with pork or beef. Ground venison is often best when 20% beef fat is added in to provide extra juiciness for hamburgers.
Visit www.MyGourmetSteaks.com for full details on the deer processing options. David Widaski has been in the meat processing business for over 30 years and has people that still send him deer from Texas all the way to Georgia for his specialty processing. Look for the new location to open in Acworth shortly.
Call 770-577-2374 for complete details. Stop by before you go hunting to get your shaved ice and don't forget to contribute to the Hunters for the Hungry raffle for 2008 to win a $500 gift certificate to use at the Douglasville store.
