those were the days... the golden age of video games. these days, it's all about trophies, achievements, multiplayer etc. and nobody buys a game for the single player story anymore. I think that this was one of the last great testaments to a new and untainted technology. Video gaming just isn't as it was anymore.

Its a part of symbolism as a representation of Snake's mission at Shadow Moses and his last ones in MGS4. I say good job Kojima.

@Sinlka Actually there is a MGS HD collection coming out for ps3 and 360 in november. Includes MGS2 MGS3 and MGS Peace Walker. But the very first MGS is only available on PSP PS1 PS3 and there was also a remake called Twin Snakes on GameCube.

@rockroc1 If I'm not mistaken Kojima said he deliberately did not include MGS1 on MGS HD as they want to do something special with it and release it separately. Let's all hope that this what they'll do.

@Wytych Haven't heard that, but sounds interesting. If it's a complete remake of MGS1 I will do all sorts of nutting up and will no doubt post videos of going thru the story!.

@Wytych MGS HD (zavvi exclusive) collection contains MGS1 PSN code. only 4000 world wide and they were sold out almost a month ago. normal collection would have those games that you had mentioned.

@TheJRPGgamer Just read the Article on Joystiq. The Japan Release is getting a MGS1 dlc code while we (North America and possibly Europe) get Peace Walker in HD. Also apparently the collection is including Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, the original 2D games. Its looking pretty friggin sweet. I own every single North American iteration of the Metal Gear Series. One of the best and long running franchises ever!
