Loved this book, as well. :D

The fourth book actually does take place in japan. Everyone speaks japanese in it and all the ppl in the book are asain, except of course for tally. Why do you think all the names in Extras sound like that? Aya, Hiro? And the girl on the cover of the book is asain as well.

The book so does take place in Japan.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but it does indeed take place in Japan, not in America. Tally's stories in the other three books took place in America. Not only does it say that it takes place in Japan in the book, but here's a wiki referance: "The story is set in Japan. The city functions with a unique economy, one based on popularity." Search Extras Scott Westerfeld wiki on google.
