Neil Young Coupe de Ville Cover

A cover of Coupe de Ville by Neil Young off the This Note's For You album. I love this song, and the album it's off which for me was the resurrection of Neil's career after the dark days of the Geffen years. This is a one-take, words from memory - so a lot of the words are mangled and wrong. Sorry! But I like the bluesy/smoky sound of the voice (even though I know my singing's not up to much) and the tinniness of the guitar.

Oh wow. Were you playing in the band or what? I thought that album was such a surprise and sooo good. Not a great fan of a lot of his 'concept' ones, but This Notes For You was a stunner, and this song the best on it. Cheers!

I like your version too, very sensitive. A cover is much more interesting when one makes something new out of it. I believe I don't do that all times, but sometimes it's just fun to see how close you can get to the original. Now I'll check out your version of Hangin' On A Limb... :)
