NYWIFT: Special Funds

New York Women in Film & Television is involved in several special funds that not only support future and current filmmakers, but also preserve the work of women filmmakers of the past. http://www.nywift.org

The Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to second-year female students enrolled in graduate film programs at Columbia University, New York University and The City College of New York.

The Women in Film Finishing Fund, a project of the Women in Film Foundation, provides completion funding and in-kind contributions to independent producers and nonprofit organizations for documentary, dramatic, educational, animated, and experimental film and videos.

The Women's Film Preservation Fund (WFPF) is the premier effort of women in the industry to preserve our cultural legacy. It was founded in 1995 by NYWIFT in conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art.

I always considred my self a film buff and had no idea that women had made such contributions in terms of direction during the hollywood golde era, wow. how little we know aobut women contributions to film.
