Our AP Art class, consisting of four people (Madison, Katie, Olivia, and Estella), had a rough time getting our portfolio submission completed.

No, really.

  • hey look im famous!

  • @liltokyogal56 Nowhere near as famous as I am.

  • how much experience would you say you need? i'm a sophmore but i was planning on taking drawing/painting next year and then taking ap senior year. do you think that'll give me a good chance of passing rate :o and is submitting your art the only thing? sorry if im bombarding you, i'm so curious and i've never met anyone who has taken this class in my school before lol

  • @shinigamixheartless For the AP Art submission, you must have 12 concentration (or artwork that functions together as a group and has a common theme; mine was 'The Inner Child'), 12 breadth (randomish artwork), and 5 quality (send it in personally). Make sure each piece in your concentration has a personal connection to you. Self portraits always do well. Like my friend is doing a series of self portraits on her own weaknesses. You will learn and grow a lot. You should do fine.

  • @horselvr1010 i hope i do well too x_x lol thank you ^u^

  • @shinigamixheartless Oke doke! Yes, taking an AP class, no matter how well you do, always looks good. If you like it, do it. I grew so much during that class. You can do a design portfolio (photography, drawing, digital, etc.), a drawing portfolio (2D traditional art), or a sculpture portfolio. I personally did design since photography was included, but whatever you want. It's a great class to take and I'm sure you'll do very well in it. Good luck!

  • @CrazyCarnival your help! i look forward to the course :'} or maybe art studio 2-D i think it's called? that looks pretty interesting too!

  • @horselvr1010 sounds interesting XD i abolutely love art but i have no background. i was just hoping that i would learn as much as possible next year, to step up and take AP. and no i'm not attending an art institute or anything , i just wanted to take it because it's a challenge for a subject i like and if i pass, hopefully i'll have my art credit for college and i'm sure it'll look good in my transcripts. It's good to see other AP courses other than math and sciences :D but thanks for your

  • @shinigamixheartless No it's fine! You're just lucky I logged in. I haven't been on this account in a while.

If you plan on attending an art institute for college, then I would suggest taking AP Art your junior year so you will have a portfolio put together. If you can't fit it in, then I suggest having awesome grades and a couple sketches. Big ones. Judges like big peices.

I took AP Art my junior year with two classes behind me. (refer to next post. running out of characters...)

  • @CrazyCarnival Yeah we had five but he dropped out. This year we have ten. We all did very well! 100% pass rate. Haha. I'm the one with long dark hair. Baha.
