This album was basically a revolution as far as symphonic metal goes. The whole genre though relatively new as compared to most sub-genres of metal was becoming almost too clear cut(not necessarily a negative, a positive as far as classification goes), easy to define but now with the way Nightwish in Imaginaerum (as opposed to Dark Passion Play) have worked with and around Anette's voice, they have created something new to the genre making aspects of the Theater of Tragedy as an element of symphonic power metal. Bloody awesome.
