He looks a lil too flamboyant for my taste. I like his unique approach to teaching dharma, but something just doesn't feel right.

I just watched his other videos and it's a lot better when he's talking more seriously. And he delivers the message pretty well too, eg. v=u1OY9l9HsXM

At least those videos help save his image and I now really respect him :)

Meditation is not about emptying our minds and meditation is not about let our mind get distracted with every single thought either. Meditation is a to focus our mind on an object, be it the breath, a Buddha image or a sacred mantra. In doing so, we slowly but surely get in touch with our real nature.

There Is a form of meditation that the "focus" is emptiness- therefore all of the void. Paradoxical? yes, but also true.

No, emptiness is not void as in the english sense of the word. It is translated from the word Shunyata. It is superficially defined as phenomena not inherently existing on its own. However Nagarjuna and all the other expounders of this view of reality says that it cannot be truly defined in words but their poetry and teachings come close in expressing it.

Even if Rinpoche is holy, he wouldn't tell the world that he is holy. His humility would have prevented him from doing that. Its his actions and the growth of his organisation and how he teaches and works for others that makes him holy.

There are two types of meditation and the first is analytical meditation and single-pointed meditation. Analytical meditation is meditation we do when we contemplate teachings by our Lama like this one and those we read in books etc. Single pointed is when we do our Sadhanas and place the result and conclusion of analytical meditation so over time it becomes a part of us. It is not just knowledge, it becomes a part of us and we act out of the realisation.

Well I like the scenario with the handphone, that frequently happen to me and others in KH. We can't put down our phones and worst thing to do during puja is not setting our phone on silent.

yes indeed I found that to be true myself, even when it looks like a big mess you're making progress and if you stick with it from those efforts you will get good meditation later on
