Almost everyone now has had vaccines when they were born and at 1 and 2 years of age. Vaccines save lives and are necessary for public health in general, but all more importantly for the individual receiving them. Perhaps people do not have the collective memory of the days of polio, whooping cough, German measles, and smallpox. Vaccines have drastically reduced the cases of these common killer diseases to inconveniences for most people.
