After completing a 10 day Vipassana Meditation Course, instructed by S N Goenka, I wanted to share with you how that Experience Enlightened me with regard to the source of my Art Inspiration.
Recently in my mind I have been receiving in an instant, a completed image for many of my paintings, complete in scale, form and colour.
I have been searching for an answer as to why, how and from where they are coming.
After completing the course, I now fully believe that I am receiving these images instinctually at the experiential level of the mind, from the bank of ideas and images that are held within the universe, I am allowing myself to be open and act as a channel for these images to come into existence. I am not feeling the need to attach myself to them, but rather objectively observe them and reproduce them in their pure form. I have later taken some of these images and created other works that are derivatives of the original inspiration.
It has been a very liberating experience.

یہ ایک بہت ہی کو آزاد کرانے کا تجربہ کیا گیا ہے.

hahaha good video, some wise things said. I'm also a vipassana meditator, I completed 4 courses. but these talks about animals and all gay stuff, just seems a bit steoretypical to me. :) that's the reason, why most people think of us, meditators, as gay people. and actually this cliche isn't a consequence of meditating, it's the other way round, touchy people just try meditation more often

i dont think there is a bank of creative ideas waiting anywhere !!! like where are they waiting??? however i do agree that vipassana is well worth the effort required ...and thanks for the nice irish lake scene too.

Awesome, I also recently finished 10 day course in Sri Lanka... it's awesome ! everybody have to practice everyday then only we get the real benefit !

This is a very interesting insight you offer us here on the connection between mindfulness/concentration and creativity. The mind that becomes simultaneously clear, quiet, attentive and energized will bring us intuition and insight into whatever might be of interest to us. However, my experience is that past a certain "speed" or "frequency" of mindfulness, these phenomena also disspear, the way the coarser ones do earlier. Thank you so much for thisbeautfiul and honest sharing...Daniel
