I wish I could find a motivator I once saw. It had a similar picture and said, "Map, minis, dice, character sheets, nerds ... yep, it's still D&D!" in reference to 4th edition.

  • Thanks for explaining this to me. Many of the people I subscribe to have mentioned D&D, and I have gotten more and more frustrated at n not being able to understand them.

This sounds awesome and I wish I had friends nerdy enough to play this with me, but my friends are the kind of nerds who are really smart, not the type who play role-playing games.

  • That almost sounds like you are saying I am not smart because I play D&D.

  • ive herd of D&D, i havent played it, but ive read some stuff, and i realy want to try it, i think it sounds realy intresting

  • The closest you can get without a gaming group is Neverwinter Nights and Dungeons&Dragons Online.

  • im suprised some douche hasn't gone NERD yet

  • I did in the video description.

  • @Strovil I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that my friends are only one type of nerd. They are limited to school/academia. You can definitely be smart and play D&D. Actually, I think only someone very smart could be the dungeon master.

  • i used to play it, but i dont nay more ,thanks for the refressher!

  • @Strovil Hi! Found your video while trying to explain D&D to someone. Very good explanation! Also wanted to mention that there are a couple of tools around that you can use to play D&D online with people. Maptool from rptools.net is a very good tool that I've been using to play online for over a year now; it's written in java. Using that along with myth-weavers to make character sheets on works pretty well. :)

  • One of the most fun D&D sessions I have had where my DM says that we walk into a checkered floor room with a group of statues on the other end. He pulls out a set of chess pieces and essentially plays them like one would normally play chess while we played like one would normally play D&D. All I have to say is fear the queen.
