@paintballKid545 That's the least of his problems

I don't hear pushing, but I do agree with full orchestra it'd be almost, if not impossible for him to pull off. He does sound pretty good though and Muti is amazing on the piano
-
The comments are greatly exaggerated. Jose does a beautiful liric job with this aria. Singing an aria in concert with piano has ZERO to do with how heavy a role is. The heaviness of a role is only in relation to singing the ENTIRE role onstage with FULL orchestra. No such challenge here, and he gave an incredibly beautiful sensitive performance. Bravo to Maestro Muti as well!

Beautiful quality of voice. But even at this early age Carreras struggles through this aria. Straining pushing and drifting above and below pitch, because the role is just to heavy for his beautiful lyric voice.
-
Carreras had the sweetest tenor going until he began to push and strain trying to do Canio and Radames and Calaf. and the like. Why did he want to be an apple when he was an orange?
-
sbaglia pure il testo.. direi che mentre lo senti viene voglia di levarsi i timpani
-
Carreras vocal line is all shot up in this aria as the arias just to big for his voice. He's pretty young, But he's straining a lot and it; destroying his beautiful quality
-
He made a mistake at 22 and 25 by switching "faccio" and "que dico"
-
Agreed!I bet you are referring to Monaco's live performance in Tokyo?
It's legendary!!
