I am really amazed: ideas like this one are what we need to reduce our use of energy. GREAT WORK!!

It probably would have worked if he had frozen the freewheeler and used one outer sprocket for the crank and an inner sprocket for the work table. Do without the derailler altogether.
-
A major drawback to it is no handlebars. He loses at least 1/3 of his power output. He was aiming it downhill in the video for more power.
The work chain uses those little derailler sprockets for power transmission, which they were never meant to handle. That was probably the fatal flaw to the whole thing.

This is why documentation is so important. There are lots of " gear heads " out there that could build something like this themselves with no " instructions ", but there are a lot of others that would love to build something just like this, that are not mechanicaly inclined, and need some instructional guidence.

This is awesome! I am going to build one to power my grow lights!

hello
Are any instructions available for building this bike and for making the corn degrainer?
Thanks

howdy, what a great idea to combine all the machines into one! I´´m at Maya Pedal now do you know if that machine is still kicking around? how long did you stay at mp? did you make any plans for this?

@amike6301
Sadly Carlos took the machine apart when he needed parts. Last time I was there, the frame was on the roof and flywheel was still around (just look for the wheel with the cement filled tire).
I never made instructions but the only difficult part was the chain drive.

Have you got the butter-churning option available for sale? What about a blender and an electric generator??
MackAndAmaya 2 years ago
This machine is just a prototype, it is not for sale, and probably never will be. Mayapedal makes many similar machines but they serve local communities in Guatemala. We don't have any butter churning machines. Sorry I can't be of more help.
