1 Pound Thermite in a Tree Stump

We got bored and put just 1 pound of Thermite mix inside a tree stump that we chopped with a chainsaw. The cuts are 2 inches deep and the Thermite mix was purchased from DBC Pyrotechnics, LLC. in Portland Oregon. They sell thermite fire starters also and we even tested one of those.

So, now you have a stump, just as hard as before, that has been BBQ'd about 1/128 th of an inch. Good job. At that rate, you'll have to use about 800 pounds of that stuff to get rid of 6" of stump...
