Inustry has not done everything possible to minimize environmental effects.
Can you say, Gulf Oil Spill?
They demolish the foliage and remove the topsoil, creating moonscapes and tailing ponds.
Is it asking so much for a plan to make the land viable again once they are done with it?
I'm not concerned with CO2 emissions, but last I checked, only Plants can convert it back into Oxygen tax-free.

WXY, the development of the oilsands is a result of market demand. Oil is very valuable, maybe even a preschooler like yourself has heard this before. Industry does everything possible to minimze the efects on the environment.
After all, waste costs money.
