Looks like some people are hard pressed to find things to argue about, since they actually try to find grievances with Watts' lecture here. It's not an excuse for laziness, first and foremost, it's a matter of changing the way you think about the "work" you must do on a day to day basis, such as washing dishes.

Ha, arguments on an Alan Watts video page. What have we become. Maybe, just maybe, we're the squares he talks about on other lectures - we could be the prickly goo.

It's really not necassary for one spiritual being to be right over another. Bringing up war as an argument is ridiculous, war is a match of ego's and power not life.
In an increasingly collectivist society, can one be surprised? Can anyone say Holocism ^_^

"There really is no necessity to go on living."

Who would've thought that sentence could be uplifting? =)

oh that could be painful but I have suffered some kind of pain anyway.... and biological reproduction is a no-go for me anyway because i don't want my children to inherit the mental risk that is present in my paternal line ;)

but seriously (though I just was serious), wouldn't you have found it funny if his unbearably deep, furious, overly intriguing tone and gestures would have been broken by a little malheur such as the arrow falling down again...?
