@brade07 it's a 4 stroke. haha.

@scbjgs 2 stroke doesnt have valves (usually), for the most part they use ports in the cylinder wall that expell the exhaust gases, and intake air. Almost all two strokes r hard to start when flooded, most of the time its flooding due to dirty carbs, and it causes the float to stick which floods your engine.

i have kohler command pro 15 engine on my exmark mower and it has become hard to start recently especially when its cold. i thought that it was a throttle linkage adjustment but that didnt help. could the vavles be the issue? i dont think they have been adjusted and we have been using it for landscaping for about 9 or 10 years

@donyboy73 Thanks for the info! I'm trying to get this IC enigen to run on my Snapper 28106S whitch the stock 10 HP B&S enigen cylnder had deep scoring marks on the cylinder head and wasn't fesabel to get it rebuilt.
Since there are 4 cabels that are running from the stator, which pair of cables go to the headlights and other pair to the battery. I can't find a wirning scamatices over the IC eningen.

BTW, you're doing the rocker alignment by putting the screwdriver in the spark plug hole, that's the hard way.
I do it by turning the motor until one of the rockers has fully opened one of the valves and I adjust the other rocker. Then I turn the motor until the one I adjusted is fully depressed (valve opened) and adjust the other rocker. Don't even have to take out the spark plug or worry about screwdriver marks on the piston. Works great for me.
I have a 1992 B&S IC 14 HP enigen that has a solenoid what a red cabel that is mounted on the carbuator bowl. What is the use for it and do I really need it?

@siemenstraffic it opens up during operation and turns off when u turn the tracotr off. there is a valve in it that stops fuel from going in the engine when u shut it off, preventing backfire

i have a tecumseh 5hp engine that starts like a charm but it dies maybe 5 secs after starting.. and it spits fuel out of the carb once per revolution as it spins down. i'm thinking the timing is off. and the fuel is squirting out of the carb on the exhaust stroke b/c the intake valve is still open.

@scbjgs you may want to replace the carb kit and check the flywheel keyway
