This is a Blue Ribbon, re-released Apr. 11, 1953. The original was released Oct. 19, 1935. The theme is actually 'The Girl on the Little Blue Plate' by Lou Alter and Jack Scholl. Billy Bletcher's the bad guy.

  • LOL at the ending. Totally unexpected.

  • Only in the thirties could a cartoon begin with adorable sentient porcelain and end with a squirrel being tommy-gunned to death by cuckoo.

It;s the same plot used many Perils of Pauline type stories,,

  • to me this is like a precedor to "Milk And Money" (1936) and "Uncle Tom's Bugalow" (1937) with a mix of a buddy cartoon, and the ending is like the ending in "Those Were Wonderful Days".
