-Part 1-
Richard M. Nixon Remembered (1994)

This segment of the documentary features part of President Richard Nixon's funeral (with eulogies by President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and Rev. Billy Graham and with frequent TV shots of Nixon's family members). Also included are clips of Nixon's resignation speech and comments by former adversary George McGovern, as well as short clips of Nixon with Soviet premiers Khrushchev and Brezhnev.

This documentary is a compilation of television clips from the days immediately after President Richard Nixon's death in April 1994. Scenes from his funeral (at his Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California) are interspersed throughout the program, as are remembrances from those who knew him and from regular Americans. Also included are film footage, interviews, and photographs of Nixon.

  • why do they play God Save The Queen at the beginning??

  • The tune is also the melody for a traditional American song, "My Country 'Tis of Thee." I'm sure they intended to play this song, not God Save the Queen. The melody for our national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, is also originally from a British song.

  • Great stuff. Where'd you find this?

  • CNN released it on video tape soon after Nixon's death.

  • 400 million Chinese people are out of poverty and have first-world living standards due to Nixon's adroit foreign policy and encouraging that country to open up to the world. That's his legacy, not the petty Watergate incident, which was no worse than anything JFK or LBJ did. Indeed, the idea of taping from the Presidency originated with JFK. Nixon is one of the most underrated Presidents of the modern era, and his legacy will get the respect it deserves. RIP to a genuinely great man.

  • I remember watching his funeral when I was 13. The outpouring of grief and affection around the country would have shocked Nixon. To me, he was our best President as far as potential.

  • Where's Pat Nixon? Will she appear in later videos?

  • rest in hell you piece of shit. let the war on drugs continue. eventually it will catch up with us. i pray that day is soon. america needs to wake up and i fear only a cold hard slap on the face will do.

  • @1973mazdarx4coupe Nixon was better than Reagan(IMO). It seems you need to calm down with the name calling a bit. I consider myself a Liberal and I absolutely love Richard Nixon. I have his portrait up on my wall. In fact, I plan on going down to Yorba Linda for his Centennial in a 2013. I respect both Nixon and Reagan;I simply prefer Nixon.

  • Preisdet Nixon was the equal greatest president of the 20th century along with president reagan. they are in god`s paradise now. the greatest peace makers the world ever knew. god bless their spirits. liberals all fry in hell with their hate, backstabbing, deception and lies. my vids r awesome

  • I know. ...I guess I wrote the question wrong. It was supposed to belong to Ronnie Reagan not me. ...I hope I didnt offend anyone. but it was supposed to be a joke.

    peace.

  • Nixon died in 1994 ... Clinton was President.

  • Julie still looked good. Poor trich got that Nixon skislope nose..She was taking it hard. So was Ed,Nixons brother......Bush sr. was like-I wonder who's next? Me or ronnie. Hillary fony as usual was moving her head as if she was digging the music. Ronnie was wondering why Clinton was giving the speech and not Bush Sr. Isnt he the president of the USA?. ......... R.I.P. President Nixon.

  • Nixon was his own worst enemy. He was paranoid because he lost an election where dead people voted, and there were disputes in Texas. He was worried about losing in '72. If he had left well enough alone, he'd have won anyway, and history would have been kinder to him. You are right; he did nothing different than his two immediate predecessors. He just got caught.
