In 2007 democrats took majorities in both houses when unemployment was 4.6%. today it is 8.3% and there are 23 million unemployed. Real unemployment is 17%(U6). Regular gasoline per gallon cost $1.68 in January 2009. Today, it’s $3.89 Since December 2008, under democrat majorities in both houses, food-stamp use has increased 46%.

Just because YOU are not better off doesn't mean that the majority of Americans are not better off. In 2008 the banks were crashing, the housing market was crashing, American auto workers were getting laid off in droves and people were holding off on big purchases. Properties were getting foreclosed on and businesses were closing left and right.... Now ALL of that is turning around and you want to tell me that things are not getting better???

It was all on a downward trend when Obama took office, Bush abandoned a sinking ship (have you seen or heard him since '08?). Have you selectively forgotten that we had a SURPLUS in 2000? Saved jobs in the auto industry ? Yeah, that's what Howard Stearn had an open door into the WH with over 20 some visits, not to include Hoffa who's bragged he also has an open-door welcome there

All of which certainly saved jobs; union jobs that is, the non-union auto workers & conservative car salesman got the boot

Lets not forget the Boeing Plant on the east coast that was not to be allowed to open; until that is, the parent plant on the west coast agreed to hiring more union fobs there
