Safe Start Swimming Survival Program

Drowning is the second leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 1 through 4 years. Florida is the second highest ranked in the nation for drowning-related deaths. The YMCA of Central Florida's Safe Start program is one of the most comprehensive drowning prevention programs in the United States.

To date, the YMCA of Central Florida has received 37 letters from Safe Start parents. These letters mentioned that without the drowning prevention program, their child would not be here today.
