Take an aerial tour of the Floating Doctors' 2010-2011Medical Relief Expedition. This is a rough guide showing just the major port destinations where we often have to clear immigration, but our clinical work is done in more remote and underserved locations.
The Floating Doctors are an all-volunteer non-profit group of doctors, health care workers and support personnel sailing on a 20,000 mile voyage to bring health care and health education to over 15,000 people in developing world communities. Harnessing the sun and wind for transportation and power, the Floating Doctors work with local NGOs and deploy mobile tented clinics ashore in remote areas, using preventative medicine and education to leave lasting health benefits at their destinations.
In every moment, we have the choice to make the right decisions in our lives, both for ourselves and for others--and even when we choose wrong, the beauty of life is that in the next moment we always get a chance to choose again, and again, and again. Maybe we can't change the whole world all at once, but every day in a hundred small ways, we CAN choose to make the world around us a better place.
And when enough people choose to do the right thing, suddenly we wake up to find that the world is changed.
