Here is a fine example of a lorry travelling at 50 mph hogging the centre lane on the M1 motorway holding up a National Express coach that should be travelling at 62 mph. This had been going on for some time before the video here started.

  • National Express drivers have a reputation for tailgating and driving too fast. Many of the drivers are very rude and unwelcoming and on top of that really reckon themselves despite the fact they are generally on £8 an hour.

  • @cabrides1 I have found drivers almost always extremely pleasant and helpful, especially Silverdale and Stagecoach, since I have most experience of them.

  • Coaches are a lesser PITA than truck drivers that hog, IMO. Coaches can go that bit faster, and seem to be able to accelerate faster and are much more agile in changing lanes from what I've seen. Still big enough to bully everything else, though!

  • @cl998 Coaches have very good acceleration, and time and again I have seen them beat cars away from traffic lights in London. They then manage to overtake cars by squeezing them out of their lanes!

  • Just drive up or down any motorway any time of day or night and watch the coach driver sits(hogs) the middle lane for miles on miles on the speed limiter(62mph) then moans when a truck that is restricted to 56mph is overtaking something in the middle lane!!! the reason Coaches where stopped from going in the outside lane was because of all the holdups/accidents and traffic tailbacks they where causing!!!!!

  • @kerednotsobig1

That is not my experience as a very regular user of both Nat Ex and megabus. Cars can always undertake or overtake, which is something coaches find hard to do since they do not have the same acceleration..

  • Middle lane trucks are a pain for coaches. Wish I had a shotgun!

  • @catman2007 I travelled with them from Yorks to London & they were poor. They thought playing games with other roads users was fun (ie tailgating). I haven't travelled with them since.

I'm a coach driver myself - casual now as I do something which earns me far more money. Was told to go to Victoria Coach Station to be second driver on a Manchester service. It was a dupe coach so no uniform, just a smart suit. The coach driver loading the vehicle didn't know me and looked at me like I was something he had just stepped in. His face when I told him I was his dupe driver :o. Typical to be honest.

  • @00westlondon do me a favor. I hate people like you who think car drivers are perfect. do me a favor, take a run and jump

  • @00westlondon Lorrys are not the biggest killers on our roads!!!!!!!! show me the facts!most accidents involve or are caused by car drivers cutting time or speeding!!

  • I think the biggest danger to road users is this coach driver who is driving far to close to the lorry in front, there should be 2 chevrons between him and the lorry, instead of sitting in the front seat filming I think I would have moved to the rear, far safer if you drive that close and at that speed.
