My son just left on Tuesday morning for bootcamp in Great Lakes. He graduates 26th August 2011. I can't wait to go! Everyone's been telling me that it is so awesome to watch.

I think San Diego is already closed and Great Lakes is the only boot camp.

This brought back memories.... I definitely haven't missed ANCHORS AWAY!
The hardest part about graduation was standing in formation for what seemed like hours.

@kingdavey16 if you go in E-3 yes you will have 3 stripes on your left sleeve. But you will not get them sewn on until maybe 2 weeks or so before grad.

I ship out April 4th 2012, I'm so excited!! Question, how do recruits earn stripes along their arms at bootcamp? If you enter bootcamp as an E2 or E3 will you have a stripe(s) during graduation?? I'm curious because I'm going in as an E3 and I wanna know if it makes any difference at all come graduation...

I'll never forget this ceremony. Everyone has tears in their eyes, the family members). It is an experience of a lifetime. Proudest moment of my life.

@Frank805123 All guests who want to attend Graduation have to take care of their own travel and hotel to visit the area.
