(I apologize for the background, I did it on a bed, no other smooth surface not occupied by power tools)
This is a brief review of the PowerTraveller PowerGorilla Portable Backup Power Supply, which provides upto 65W of uninterrupted power to your gadgets and devices, including laptops, sat-navs, etc. It comes with a whole ****ing slew of tips and adapters (called MonkeyNuts) of which there are many more available to buy from the PowerTraveller website.

  • so i understand the usb port works independent from the voltage setting. since it is usb it should only provide 5 volts. could you tell me the battery capacity of your phone and how long it needs to charge from the powergorilla?

for example my phones capacity is 1230 mAh and on it's 1A charger it takes a little over 1 hour to charge.

For me it tells me how usable the powergorilla is for me and it would help me decide if i want to buy one as well.

  • @Johnny5rlx Yes the USB port is completely independent from the main voltage setting. It provides 5v and my phone (which has a 1500mAh Li-Po battery) charges within one-and-a-half hours.

  • nice.

best review i found so far.

  • @Johnny5rlx Thanks for the feedback.

  • @hackm0d hi, how many mobile phone charges do u get before you have to recharge the powergorilla

  • Squeaky voice

  • i got me one as well. works perfectly on the usb port. thoug my HP elitebook requires a setting not provided by the powertraveller. and a bit more amps as well.

still, it was for my phone so it's a success in that case.
