  • I think I may have saw one of these phones in a Laurel and Hardy film from the 1930s

  • @theoriginalbillholt I'm done, with this final thought: as a 'purist', I was wondering if you can configure these oldies to operate with a conversion feature so that they can retain the original block-style three- or four-prong plug. I remember my Grandparents' having three prongs that went into a wall receptacle with four holes. Your restorations are top-shelf, but adding that specific detail would be great, if unnecessary in the opinion of most. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • @theoriginalbillholt Sorry... can't stop the train quite yet. Rich, I'm sincerely impressed with your work. I'm a detail-obsessed perfectionist -- an artistic Virgo -- so with total humility I say that to dazzle me to this extent I can assure you is no easy feat. I bust peoples' chops on YouTube often for their unbridled stupidity, lack of sophistication, and so on. It's nice to have nothing but accolades for someone's upload or comment here. Thanks!

  • @theoriginalbillholt Just to complete my thought: the song you chose for this video was a great touch. TO ANYONE who finds cat91101's videos interesting; I strongly urge you to seek out his detailed eBay listings and enjoy them. True 'eye candy' for the vintage telephone enthusiast! Superb photos and a very earnest, comprehensive explanation from Rich of his hobby and the painstaking, adoring attention to perfection with which he approaches the restoration of these museum-quality tele-relics!

  • I spent some time checking out eBay, looking for the phone you mention here, not realizing that your comment was five months old! I was surprised to find a similar 202 up for sale. I'd love to have the phone, but finances won't allow it at this time. I think I like this phone even more than the 'newer' model my Grandparents had! What I thought was funny is that I came back here and started your video again, but I had Bob Marley's 'Waiting In Vain' playing as the phone began ringing. Ha!

  • awesome phone

  • This is an incredible phone! I have a 500 from 1951 that belonged to my grandmother, it needs a bit of tlc but I am in love with it. What song do you have playing in the background? That's deeply cool as well!

  • makes my mouth water for one. I also have a 196? bell system wall rotary phone. please visit my channel to see the video. if anyone knows info please let me know. thanks

  • where do you buy these?
