  • I just finished listening to David Sanborn doing a hip version of Harlem Nocturn. He did a fantastic Job! However after listening to Sonnt Stitt, I'm like oh my God! He's Charlie Parker re-incarnated. I must start listening to him. He is the real heart and soul of the black experience in America. You here the real soul of jazz and the blues. Most white jazz artist use a lot of blues scales, and play them fast. But it still does'nt have that real soulful, sad, meloncholy feel .

  • @cushmoor Thank you for watching^^!

Absolutely! I do really think so.

It is well known that Stitt is subject to the influence of a Parker.

To be sure, this black feeling cannot be taken out to a white's player.

    Many many thanks♬♫

  • Jazz is Dead??? Lets clear up one thing, the music thats labled "Jazz" only represents a portion of the true meaning of "Jazz". Jazz is about people, people with African heritage, people that survived slavery. Jazz evolved from field holler's, sprituals ,the blues and out of necessity, the African American created a culture and life style where improvisation was mandatory!! This Cultural is embraced by and has influenced people of all nationality's. So as long as there's people, Jazz Lives!!

  • @mickhutchinson Thank you for watching^^!Absolutely! This is one of my Best stitt's tune. I love it very well.

    Many many thanks♪♪

  • @MrAnakindra 12k more than none...

  • @philranelin2 There's nothing remotely African about this piece of music.I always thought music was one area that should be free from prejudice and segregation. Jazz was created in America by blacks and whites together and not in Africa. The Great American Song Book that all the greats have played and still playing comes mostly from Russian-Jewish immigrants and the musical tradition they brought to America. Without European influence Jazz would never be the great music it has become.

  • @mickhutchinson Thank you again^^!I do really think so! His playing is soulful, but his good point's are sound is clear and finished decently.

    Thanks ♪♪

  • @navitimer54 Yes it's such a great tune .Really soulful playing !!!
