Here's a little New Year's cocktail for you, one of the rare opportunities to watch my dear friend Tommy Emmanuel playing the rhythm and blues classic "One Mint Julep". You won't find this too often on Youtube. Taken from his performance at the 3rd annual Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Festival in Rietberg/Germany, August 2006, I had the pleasure to be invited to with the Hot Club of Nashville. Lovely - most of the Tommy stuff one sees is him playing multiple parts very fast, and a lot of sins can be covered up by fast playing. So it is great to see him go slow and tasteful on this classic Rudy Toombs song.

I've seen Tommy twice at the Chet Atkins Festival in Nashville, and it amazes me that this is an acoustic guitar! How much can you do with an acoustic, I USED to think...wow.
